Belleville Denture Repair
Sometimes things happen and your dentures need a fix – we’re here to help!
Denture repairs restore a fractured or damaged denture as close to its original condition as possible. Your Denturist will advise you of the condition of your denture and the necessary steps needed in preventing further breakage. If your denture is older than 7 years and continually breaks, then it may be time to think about getting a new one.
Please Note:
Unfortunately, a denture can break at a time when you are unable to get to the denture clinic quickly. If you decide to use super glue to repair it yourself, please be advised that this will make it more difficult, if not impossible, for us to repair the denture back to its original form.

Types of Denture Repair
Denture Rebase
If you’re curious about the difference between relining and rebasing, getting a denture rebase will provide a more drastic change compared to a denture reline. The denture rebase procedure involves completely replacing the pink acrylic denture base as opposed to reforming a new material on top. This practically renews your dentures and can last between 5-7 years depending on how well they are taken care of.
The denture rebase process is more complicated than the denture reline process and is usually done if there is significant damage to the acrylic and the teeth on your dentures are still in good condition.
Denture Reline
Denture reline is a very common type of denture repair that you will likely need to get done regularly. Especially if you are finding your denture fit to be uncomfortable, or poor fitting.
The denture reline process involves resurfacing the area of your dentures that comes in contact with your gums. By resurfacing this area, it can provide you with a better overall fit and appearance. If you are looking to get a denture reline done to improve the overall fit and comfort of your dentures, the experts at Belleville Dentures can help with soft relines, hard relines, and temporary relines.
- Soft relines are perfect if you’re new to dentures and perhaps are getting your first denture reline. It involves placing a soft malleable material on top of your dentures so that they fit against your gums improves. Soft relines are the most pliable and comfortable but will last only about 12 months.
- Hard relines can be extremely comfortable when done properly due to the more durable material used. This process involves shaving down some of your dentures and getting a new hard custom top that better fits your gums. These can last about 4 years longer than soft relines.
- Temporary relines are used when a patient does not want to go without teeth before a hard reline is complete despite experiencing discomfort. Sometimes these temporary relines use medicated materials to help alleviate the pain while wearing your dentures during healing times.

Denture Adjustment
This is typically a quick adjustment that can be done right in our offices to help improve overall comfort and fit. Denture adjustment refers to removing small portions of acrylic material from the denture so that they fit more comfortably.
Denture Replacement
Sometimes a full denture replacement is needed depending on the state of your dentures. If the quality of the teeth on your dentures aren’t adequate, a denture rebase might not be sufficient. If you think you may need a complete denture replacement, contact the experts at Belleville Dentures. We can book a consultation and provide you with the best recommendation for you.
